In 1986, Craig Seligman, partner of Silvana Nova, wrote a profile of Doris Fish for the San Francisco Examiner’s Sunday magazine Image. At the time, Doris Fish was the most famous drag queen in San Francisco when drag was becoming increasingly visible, if not yet mainstream. The profile was the basis of Seligman’s 2023 book, “Who Does That Bitch Think She Is? Doris Fish and the Rise of Drag”.
