Robyn arrived on the scene in SF just after Doris died. She met Tippi just once and has been stalking Miss X ever since. She created the 1991 comic book Homozone 5, inspired by the Sluts A-Go-Go and the X-Men and is currently adapting "Vegas in Space" as a comic book. Long fascinated by drag and trans history, she is Creative Director at the Louise Lawrence Transgender Archive.
Sluts A Go-Go-A Play with Music After returning from Australia on South Pacific Nightclub Tour the Sluts began working with Eddie Troia, a promoter and manager had seen their debut show at the Gay Community Center and afterwards approached Doris about improving the production. The script was expanded, the characters more defined, live music and new…
The 4 months in Sydney that bonded Doris, Tippi, and Miss X. Doris travelled between San Francisco and her native Australia nearly every year. After the October 28, 1979 debut performance of the Sluts A Go-Go she was inspired to bring her new troupe with her when she returned to Australia that Christmas. She paid…

Circa 1979-1980, this show flyer from the Sluts A Go-Go Australian Tour is a masterpiece from Doris Fish. A hand lettered Xerox collage of photographs, she put her friend’s heads on bodies taken from photos in Female Mimics International Magazine.
Photo by Matt Barton. I love the intimacy of this photograph. ❤️A snapshot in the back seat of Phil Ford’s car on the way to a show or a party. The black hair frames Doris’s features beautifully and she’s so lit up. From Miss X’s archive.
The debut poster for the Sluts A Go-Go designed by Doris Fish. Doris loved creating the posters for their shows, so much so that the actual show itself was a mere formality. Things I love about this: the Doris portrait is naturally awesome, I drew our logo from this image. I love the phrases “Real…
X and Doris at a street fair circa 1979-1980
Miss X comments: “I joined a band headed by my next door neighbor Mark Elliott. Trans drummer Scott Loughridge (I think), bass Jeanette Szudy who played the reporter in VIS, I sang and played keyboards, Tippi and Doris (and Freida Lay at our first performance at Previews) danced. This poster was created by Doris for…
